Exploring the use of online learning platform in learning English

Abstract

The use of online multimedia in teaching English as a Foreign Language is essential for enhancing the students’ learning achievement. The application of an online platform for teaching English is very beneficial for improving students’ language skills and enhancing students’ learning motivation. The aim of this research is to know how the English teacher's perception of the online platform in the teaching-learning process and  how students' perception when using an online platform from an English teacher during the learning process. The research method used is qualitative research and the  there are some result of the research they are : teacher’ perceptions related to the Perceived Usefulness Items with a percentage of 60% agreeing with the questionnaire, Perceive Ease of Use items’ is 60% and categorized agree positive perception, teacher’ perceptions related to the Behavioral Intention Items with a percentage of 60% and, teacher’ perceptions related to the System Use Items with a percentage of 100%, students’ perceptions related to teaching materials’ category with a percentage of 62.50 %, there are 58.16% students‟ perceptions related to atmosphere for learning environments' category, students‟ perceptions related to student interactions' category with percentageof 67.82 %. The following section discusses the conditions that make online learning possible, such as when the teacher presents the material. Students agree that online learning improves their English skills, according to the study.
