Combination Strategies for Reading Comprehension in English Specific Purpose (ESP)

Abstract

Strategies, which refers to students’ behaviors to comprehend texts, has been explored in language learning. However, researches on combination strategies (cognitive strategies and metacognitive strategies) for reading comprehension in ESP has not explore. The researcher in the current research explores a significant difference of combination strategies used by university students for reading comprehension in ESP. The subjects of the current research were 34 university students in experimental group and the other 34 university students in control group. The data were analyzed by true experimental design. The results indicated that there was a significant difference of combination strategies used by university students for reading comprehension in ESP.
