Playing Game or Doing Assessment?: The Use of Quizizz in Language Assessment Through Students’ Perspectives

Abstract

The dynamics of technological progress in various fields have an indirect impact on the world of education. (Ambiyar:2019). One of the indications is in the use of media as an assessment tool. Quizizz is one of the very popular platforms in every grade from primary school to university students. There is one of some private Islamic Elementary Schools in Malang that are used for data collection. This school is applying hybrid teaching and learning methods. The researchers try to use another platform to apply to this school. The participants are 70 students of that private school. From those 70 participants given the link, 63 participants answered the form. 73% are students from the third grade and 27% are from the sixth grade. The result from the questionnaire is some students say that Quizizz is simple to use; utilizing Quizizz to complete in-class exercises is enjoyable and increases their interest in the learning process. Although some students responded differently, the majority of students agreed to utilize quizzes in class to help them learn.
