Online learning strategies to increase students’ interest during the covid-19 pandemic

Abstract

The significance of interest in learning cannot be overemphasised. This interest leads to learning motivation, which can enhance learning findings. The goal of this research is to understand and investigate the methods applied by English lecturers to enhance the students' desire to study and demonstrate students' feedback in online learning during the COVID 19 pandemic. The director, deputy of curriculum, instructurs, and learners delivered as speakers in the qualitative approach, which took a phenomenological approach. Semi-structured interviews were used to collect data, which was then analyzed applying the concept of Miles and Huberman. According to the findings of this study, the teacher's strategies for increasing students' desire in studying included providing learners with a recognition of the necessity of teaching, making basic lesson simple, obvious, and entertaining, using simple but efficient media, being able to initiate close and consistent assessments.
