Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has significantly transformed how muslim women experience the iddah period, particularly in relation to social media use. This study aims to explore the forms of interaction engaged in by women during iddah on social media, the underlying factors motivating such behavior,and the islamic legal perspective regarding this phenomenon. Utilizing a qualitative case study approach, focusing on public content shared by muslim female figures, the study reveals that social media serves not only as a platform for emotional and spiritual expression but also as a space  for social and economic activity. Nevertheless, these interactions raise new fiqh challenges,especially concerning digital beauty filters and the potential for interaction with non-mahram men. Islamic law emphasizes prudence and public interest (maslahah).allowing such digital presence within boundaries that uphold shari’at values. This study advocates for a contextual and responsive fiqh approach that aligns with contemporary female realities while preserving the objectives of islamic law (maqasid syari’ah).
