Early marriage is still a widespread phenomenon, especially among adolescents who have dropped out of school. This practice is often considered a solution to various social and economic problems, even though it has a serious impact on the future of the teenagers involved. This study aims to review the practice of early marriage from the perspective of Islamic law, by analyzing the factors that cause and the impact on teenagers who drop out of school. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a field study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation with teenagers who married early, their parents, and community and religious leaders in the research area. Analysis was conducted by reducing data, presenting, and drawing conclusions systematically. The results show that the main factors driving early marriage are low family economic conditions, low levels of education, the influence of socio-cultural norms, and an incomplete understanding of religion. The impacts include psychological pressure, financial unpreparedness, reproductive health problems, and limited access to education and self-development. In the perspective of Islamic law, although marriage is allowed after puberty, the aspects of maturity (rusyd) and benefit must be the main considerations so as not to violate the main purpose of marriage in Islam, namely to form a sakinah family.
