Prediction Due to Lightweight Body to Support Multi-Purpose Electric Vehicle (MPEV) Massive Production

Abstract

Abstract- Indonesia is a country that has the largest car market share in ASEAN. With a market potential of more than 38 million cars, making this country one of the most potential Asian countries in the automotive sector. With such a large market potential, the idea of implementing clean transportation with the implementation of electric vehicles in Indonesia is emerging. This is supported by the government, especially the ministry of energy and mineral resources (ESDM) by making the policy prohibits the production of motor fuel starting in 2040. To adjust to the needs of the Indonesian market dominated by the type of MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) then the electric vehicle in Indonesia should be more lightweight compared to electric vehicles that have been developed previously. On the basis of vehicle weight reduction, HSS (High Strength Steel) is selected as the most suitable material for Indonesian electric vehicle needs. The experimental results show that the production process of HSS requires 63% more power at press shop, 31% at welding shop or 14% overall manufacture power demand to keep the quality good. This study aims to predict the electrical needs of the automotive industry that must be prepared for mass production of electric vehicles in Indonesia
