Growth Of White Oyster Mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus (Jacq.) P.Kumm) on Sawdust With Addition Rice Husk in Mekarsari Village

Abstract

White oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus (Jacq.) P.Kumm) was a type of mushrooms that widely consumed containing 27% protein. Protein content in white oyster mushroom can be influenced by the composition of planting media such as cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin and additional nutrients. Alternative media that can be used to complete sawdust is organic waste. Rice husk is one of organic waste that can be used as an alternative media to increase productivity of white oyster mushroom. The purpose of this research was to know the growth of white oyster mushroom on sawdust media by addition of rice husk in Mekarsari Village. This experiment used Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with 4 treatments (K4S0, K3S1, K2S2 and K1S3) and each treatment were 6 replications so there were 24 experimental units. The main parameters observed were pinhead occurrence time. Supported parameters were growth of mycelium, fresh and dry weight. The results showed that the addition of rice husk to sawdust media was not influenced the time of appearance of white oyster mushroom pinhead (P. ostreatus (Jacq.) P.Kumm). The treatment of K1S3 was the fastest in the appearance of the white oyster mushroom pinhead (P. ostreatus (Jacq.) P.Kumm) with average to 38,83 days.
