Community Empowerment in Talise Village, Likupang Barat Subdistrict, North Minahasa Regency Through Integration of Livestock Farmers

Abstract

The people of Talise Village, Likupang Barat Subdistrict, North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province face various complex problems such as: geographical location facing the Pacific Ocean with high ocean waves, food needs that are mostly imported from outside regions, low agricultural productivity because low soil fertility, and many other problems. To overcome these various problems, community service activities have been carried out, through the scheme of Kuliah Kerja Nyata - Pembelajaran Pemberdayaan Masyarakat (KKN-PPM). The activities of KKN-PPM are aimed at developing food crop farming businesses by optimizing the use of marginal land and yard of the house. The method used is the application of appropriate science and technology for livestock farming integrated with the adult learning approach (andragogic). The results achieved are the livestock farming has been facilitated as an effort to meet the consumption needs of animal and vegetable food and increase the family's economic income.
