Structural Decomposition Analysis of Indonesian Fisheries
Abstract
Indonesian fisheries have the second largest potential in the world, with excellence as employment of the last resort. The global financial crisis occurred in 2008-2009 affected the world economy, including rupiah exchange rate, resulting in disruption to economic sectors that made exports as the main destination, including the fisheries sector. This study aims to see the importance of the fisheries sector in Indonesia's economic growth during the crisis period, through input-output data for the 2005 and 2010 periods. The results of the analysis show that there are changes in the forward and backward linkages from other sectors in the economy to the fisheries sector. There is a decrease in the ranking of forward linkages from the primary fisheries sector, but there is an increase in the ranking of linkages from the secondary fisheries sector. Based on this research, technological innovations can be recommended to support the improvement of Indonesia's secondary fisheries sector.Published
