A CASE STUDY ON STRENGTHENING NATIONALISM FOR YOUNG GENERATION AS A FORM OF PLURALISM AND ANTI RADICALISM ATTITUDE

Abstract

Access to information dissemination in global interaction has changed the world order, as if the boundaries are no longer a barrier. Globalization affects various impacts on all life aspects to society in social and governmental scales, like the two sides of the coin, the impacts are both positives and negatives. The positive point is that the advancement of technology can facilitate to fulfil the needs of human beings. However, the most fundamental drawback is the degradation of sacred values which have become life principles into the universal standart brought by globalization. Furthermore, that phenomenon increases the threat of conflict that led to disintegration. This paper discusses a study in strengthening nationalism for youths. The concept of nationalism is considered as antithesis with attitudes confronting the values of unity of Indonesia. Therefore, the environment (school, home and society) which support young generation to sthrengthen the nationalism is undeniably needed, because its concept is intended as the dedication for the country, to accept and to tolerance living in the diversity which become the character of the nation.  Creating good relationship among the citizen themselves results in a concern of all citizens and for the fate of an entire nation.
