ISLAM NUSANTARA AS MODERN AND MODERN MODEL

Abstract

Abstract: This paper aims to explain that Indonesian Islam known as Islamic Nusantara has its own characteristics compared with Islam in other territories. The Islamic Nusantara character is wasathiyyah (moderate) with features inclusive, accommodative, tolerant and peaceful coexistence with other people.

Islam Nusantara not new fathom, new concept, or new tenet. Islam Nusantara is an Islam that understands local wisdom. Islam Nusantara was born out of the notion that Islam is a universal thought accommodated in a particular human culture. The doctrine of monotheism, eschatology, prophethood, morals, and the subject matter of the Shari'a are universal doctrines, but their practice is always a combination of universal and particular elements.Universal, because Islam is a celestial religion that descends from the sky, particular because the perpetrators of religion are human and human beings are cultured beings. In this paper discussed local Indonesian wisdom that has a correlation with the life of nation and state so that this pluralistic Indonesia continues to exist, such as Pancasila as the basis of the country. Pancasila is the values ​​that are excavated, grown, and developed from the culture of the nation, thus becoming an ideology that is inherent with the personality of the nation.

Pancasila is the basic model of the modern state that accommodates all religions and ethnicities that exist to prevent the disintegration of the nation, the values ​​derived from local wisdom of Indonesia.
