Abstract

eople face fact that there are many different religions. These religions offer various concepts of life and salvation; each of them claims to bring the absolute truth. More often than not, history records the intensity of disputes based upon the tensions between religious believers who affirm strongly as the most rightful religion.

Islam, which means peace, has frequently been corrupted by using doctrine and teachings from certain parties for their political and sectarian will.  This religious misconduct gives the face of Islam a bad name such as being regarded as an unfriendly religion towards other faiths. It is imperative that Islam should be viewed as an open and friendly religion which respects other religious beliefs. Muslims, therefore are urged to take part in a great life’s agenda which is the existence of a unity of people in achieving mutual prosperity with dignity and respect to individuals of different faith background.

This inquiry aims to present a set of arguments developed based upon the Quran’s universal teachings about humanity; the Quran’s verses mention a multicultural society that demand a peaceful and prosperous living; it also asserts that the diversity of faiths is intended and purposely designed by God not to divide them but rather to create individuals who can live in harmony and mutual respect.
