IMPLEMENTATION OF MULTICULTURAL EDUCATION AS THE MEANS OF THE DEVELOPMENT BHINNEKA TUNGGAL IKA’S VALUE ON STUDENTS (Case Study In Junior High School Taruna Bakti Bandung)

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a rich diversity, consisting of various tribes,nations, races, cultures and religions are diverse. Diversity extends throughout Indonesia, as a multicultural society with a rich diversity of the Indonesian nation has failed to take advantage of its potential. It shows that Indonesia has problems in managing its multicultural diversity potency. Some of problem about diversity
in Indonesia has become problems that requires precise handling. Multicultural education is the most appropriate way to improve the management of diversity. Multicultural education should be directed in accordance with the motto of the Indonesian nation, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. The purpose of this study is to apply multicultural education in Indonesia directed to develop the values of Bhinneka
Tunggal Ika. Multicultural education has begun to be implemented in a school of Indonesia, the concept of multicultural education has gained a prominent position in the Indonesian national educational system. Taruna Bakti Bandung is known for a long time as a school that implements a multicultural learning process. Multicultural education carried out in the school in the form of acceptance of
learners regardless of the different. Taruna Bakti Bandung always strives to provide the same service regardless of the different of the students.
