This diversity is a hidden force, but diversity is also sometimes the cause of the problems facing this nation today. Therefore, a comprehensive idea is needed in order to create world peace in the context of Islamic Nusantara.
One of the most intense and concerned figures with plural-multicultural practices is Gus Dur. Gus Dur's ideas and ideas need to be interpreted in the perspective of national and state life in Indonesia. Because through Gus Dur's ideas, horizontal conflicts over the years will find a contextual and comprehensive solution. So that conflicts related to the ethnic groups, races or religions can be minimized.
This paper focuses on Gus Dur's thinking about the Islamic Indigenization as one of Islamic Nusantara forms. The ideology brought by Abdurrahman and his respect for plurality is entirely based on his deep understanding of the teachings of Islam. The characteristic of Abdurrahman's thought is highly anthropological theological that promotes the contextual society. The practice of Gus Dur's contextualism not only teaches tolerance to the beliefs of other religions, but is also accompanied by a willingness to accept the good teachings of other religions.
