ISLAM, HUMANITY, AND PEACE
Abstract
The ideal of realizing peace in the social life of society is a very noble ideal of hope, but it’s not easy and not as simple as we imagine. The essential and universal message of peace practice is not merely to show counter-activity to violence, disputes, tensions and conflicts among people. Peace has a very complex (Universal) object, and requires very serious attention, both from very individual-personal and socio-communal subjects. The first dimension is more emphasis on self-awareness efforts, starting from how to organize the system of self-value, self-behavior, to the attitude of self in responding to the cultural system of society. While the second dimension is more focused on the pattern of systemic awareness on the social life of the community in order to create a system of communication and social interaction of mutual care and attention to the fundamental values ​​of humanity or commonly we call human rights. Therefore Islam always discuss and advocates about peace, harmony, to help human beings without distinguishing religion and at the same time strategic steps to build awareness of human values ​​to underlie conception and implementation of peace. his is one of the reasons why IsIam ​​is descended in the midst of society, among other things is to give mercy to all the worlds that God has created in a cross. Islam is present not in order to nourish the attitude of enmity and conflict between humans, that is by being envious, envy, and arrogant towards each other, but Islam is a greeter and peace between them. Therefore, in the historical and sociological journey of Islam always build humanist civilization by putting tasamuh (tolerant) attitude, looking at equality of rights among others, and creating climate of love among the Muslims with the followers of other religions, cross. Islam, peace, and humanity, are mutually adaptable and complementary entities.
