STRENGTHENING SOCIAL COOHESIVITY THROUGH INCLUSIVE AND TOLERANCE ATTITUDE IN DIVERSITY

Abstract

This study aims to describe the concept of community unity by utilizing the practices that have taken place in the smallest level of social life (village level). Segregation and differences that are behind the community, especially in the village sometimes become the source of disunity and disharmony, so it takes a concept offer that can make the community's integrity is maintained. The development of tolerant and inclusive attitudes can contribute to preventing and avoiding society from the nuances of disharmony. Openness and tolerance to heterogeneity provides a significant guarantee for the community to be cooperative despite the diverse backgrounds in various fields, including religious issues and beliefs.

In the elaboration of the concept of social cohesiveness is more likely to use sociological approach with inductive mindset. The elaboration of existing sociological concepts is related to the urgency and significance of an increasingly complex and heterogeneous social life. The compilation of the description of the concept of social cohesiveness with the teachings of Islam becomes an added value in this study. The Qur'anic verse 103 of Ali Imran becomes an important point for mankind to maintain cohesiveness in social life.
