Ekosistem Islam Rahmatan li al-‘Alamin Menciptakan Harmonis pada Masyarakat Multikultural di Indonesia

Abstract

Islam is present in the middle of multicultural society in Indonesia. The citizen who have a variety of backgrounds, ethnic, cultural, languages, or religions. Diversity becomes an opportunity as well as a challenge that build a great state and nation. It needs some elements that are synergized, mutually, reinforcing, supporting each other to form a single unit system (read: ecosystem). In this case, Islam becomes rahmatan li al-‘alamin that has contributed great contribution in unifying the heart, minds, and action of Muslims to produce progress in various aspects of life that can be felt by Muslims themselves and others. Its transformation and application in the life of Indonesian nation is to accept unity in diversity (read: bhinneka tunggal ika),  tolerance, humanism, democracy, harmony, moderation, safe, and peace.
