THE ENVIRONMENTAL CARING CHARACTER BUILDING IN GREENERATION INDONESIA ORGANIZATION AS A MANIFESTATION OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT (Descriptive study of the Greeneration Indonesia organization)

Abstract

Nowdays, human life tends to be more complex and even tends to lead to "chaotic" conditions. This is due to (1) the growth of the world population continues to surpass the natural productivity capacity of the earth, (2) the rapid development of communication and transportation resulting in "world interlinkages" such as economic globalization, trade, environmental crisis, development problems, poverty, other. This also happens in Bandung which is the more days pass the quality of the environment decreases. The theory approach used in this research is qualitative, and the method used is descriptive. The research was conducted at the Greeneration Indonesia organization, environmental activists / volunteers, and society. Greeneration Indonesia is one of the organizations concerned about environmental problems in Indonesia based in Bandung. The concern of Greeneration Indonesia is that it is strongly believed that the environmental problems that occur is due to human activity itself. Therefore Greeneration Indonesia has the concept of "Green Attitude for Green Environment". Therefore, the community’s caring character needs to be improved in order to create harmony between people and the environment. Sustainable development includes three aspects, these three aspects are economic development, social development and environmental protection. These three aspects can not be separated from each other, because those three aspects causing a causal relationships. One aspect will cause the other to be affected.
