STRATEGY OF PESANTREN NGALAH PASURUAN IN CHANGE RELIGION RADICALISM

Islam is a universal religion, perfect, dynamic, flexible, elastic, and can adapt to situations and conditions. Islam is also known as a religion that is accommodative to local traditions and ikhtilÄf ulama in understanding their religious teachings through pesantren education. Pesantren is an institution of Islamic culture in Indonesia. Its existence is quite rooted in the Indonesian society. In addition to being an enlightening agent of faith for santri and Muslims in their respective neighborhoods, pesantren also serves as cultural transforming agents that can bring messages of solidarity and peace.

Pesantren Ngalah Pasuruan as an indigenous education institution that plays an important role in maintaining and preserving local traditions. This article aims to describe, analyze about (1) how is the Education Pattern of Pesantren Ngalah Pasuruan in countering religious radicalism? (2) how is education strategy of Pesantren Ngalah Pasuruan in countering religious radicalism?

This research uses qualitative approach. Through observation, interview and documentation. The data in this study consist of (1) primary data and (2) secondary data. Data analysis was done continuously along with data collection until this research ended. The technique of data validity using inspection techniques.

The results of this study are summarized (1) Ngalah Pesantren organizes education "campursari" which is socio-cultural ala sunan Kalijogo, and the socio-structural style of NU which includes education (a) formal, (b) non formal, (c) informal. (2) Ngalah's pesantren education strategy in countering religious radicalism (1) Walisongo's strategy of non-violence by using (a) embracing not hitting, (b) giving non-hate, (c) non-humorous, (d) (e) looking for friends not looking for opponents.
