PRE-SERVICE TEACHER; PROJECT BASED LEARNING; PROBLEM SOLVING
Abstract
The problems in the education of future teachers are the lack of problem-solving skills and the "gap" between the learning obtained by future teachers and practice in educational institutions. One of the learning models that adapts to these problems is project-based learning. The urgency of this study is the application of project-based learning in problem-solving skills and the analysis of the needs of educators' pedagogical competences that students should have as future teachers (teachers in training) through the subject of development of learning media in early childhood. This research uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive quantitative type of research. With research topics up to 30 student teacher candidates (teacher-in-training) Early Childhood Islamic Education (PIAUD). With intentional sampling technique, as well as data collection techniques from surveys, interviews and documentation. Research results on future PIAUD teachers show that problem solving skills can be developed through project-based learning with a percentage of 22% very capable, 33% capable, 38% quite capable and 7% not capable to solve problems.
