UPAYA GURU DALAM MENGATASI DEGRADASI MORAL SISWA (STUDI KASUS DI MTs. WAHID HASYIM 2 DAU MALANG)

Abstract

Research on the efforts made by the teacher in overcoming student moral degradation was very interesting and unique, because first, this research was carried out in a private Islamic education environment that highly upholds Akhlakul Karimah or student character. Second, the educational background of each student was different. Third, in the opinion of some researchers, there has been no similar research which raises the theme of the teacher's efforts to overcome the moral degradation of junior high school students, especially madrasah tsanawiyyah (MTs). Therefore, this study aimed to determine the moral degradation factors of students and the efforts of teachers in overcoming students' moral degradation at MTs. Wahid Hasyim 2 Dau Malang. This study used a qualitative method. Data collection was carried out using interview, observation and documentation methods. While testing the validity of the data, the researcher used triangulation, peer checking, and extension of observation. The results of research and discussion were as follows: first, factor that caused student moral degradation was internal factors and external factors. Internal factors are the moral degradation factors that grow from the students themselves, while external factors namely moral degradation factors which are caused by outside influences of students. Second, the efforts made by the teacher in overcoming student moral degradation were carried out by preventive, persuasive, repressive and curative efforts.
