PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER TOLERAN MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN PAI BERBASIS MULTIKULTURAL DI SMAN 1 MALANG

Abstract

Islamic literature says that the Islamic religion at the time of Rasulullah SAW showed its role as a moderate religion, a religion that brought grace to the universe, and a religion that was able to unite ethnic groups or human groups, namely through an attitude of tolerance. This has continued in later periods to the present, especially in educational spaces. In this study, researchers examined the role of Islamic Religious Education learning at SMA Negeri 1 Malang in forming tolerant characters. At SMAN 1 Malang, there is diversity in religion as well as ethnicity or customs, but this diversity still shows a harmonious life in forming a peaceful, comfortable and harmonious learning process in the school environment. This research is closely related to the role of Islamic Religious Education in fostering the character or attitude of tolerance (mutual respect) among school members in SMAN 1 Malang. This research is intended to study, discuss, and analyze how the role of Islamic Religious Education in SMA Negeri 1 Malang in creating a conducive learning environment in the midst of diversity through the formation of an attitude of tolerance.
