MODEL PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DI SEKOLAH BERBASIS PESANTREN

Abstract

Character education is part of task of educational institutions. In it’s development, Islamic education institutions are divided into four namely: pesantren; madrasah; Islamic school and pesantren-based schools or Islamic boarding school.  Each of these institutions has a strategy in character education for its students. As a new entity in Islamic Education, how character education is developed in pesantren-based. The author conducted this case study research at the Ibnu Abbas Islamic boarding school. T he results of this study indicate that this flagship school in Central Java has developed three pillars of the Islamic boarding school, namely school, ketahfizan and kesantrian. Character education is carried out in the three cottage institutions. The model was developed through the OSIA organization (ibnu abbas Islamic boarding school student organization), habituation of ubudiyah yaumiyah and enforcement of discipline with a scoring and modeling system (qudwah hasanah) by developing the principle of "leading from the front". The author gives the name of character education model in Ibnu Abbas Boarding School Klaten with term ORI-HABITUASI; orientation, intervention and habituatuion.
