Analyzing The Story of An EYL Teacher First Time Dealing with Students' Characteristics in Teaching English: Narrative Inquiry

Abstract

Based on real life, this research was conducted in qualitative research. With experienced teachers of English education in elementary school research becomes a narrative inquiry. Here the method is using interviews in voice notes on WhatsApp with the teachers in elementary school, especially English teachers. From their stories teacher perceptions of the characteristics of students. The collecting data is just one participant, a teacher in Ponorogo city. The finding is that teacher strategies or motivations to deal with characteristic students, and teacher anxiety when teaching English in elementary school. In addition, this research suggests teacher strategies to deal with students' characteristics.
